Making Your Home Inspection Friendly

Seller's Checklist 
- Make sure all interior and exterior light fixtures work
- Provide access to the furnace, water heater, crawlspace and electrical panel.
- Install a new air filter.
- Ensure that windows operate smoothly.
- Replace all damaged window screens.
- Tighten all doorknobs and tighten or repair all handrails.
- Clear the way to the attic access panel or pull-down, especially in a closet.
- Be sure that there is a minimum of one smoke detector per floor.
- Remove window security screws, or provide keys for window security locks.
- Provide keys or unlock sheds and out-buildings.
- Adjust the downward pressure of the automatic garage door opener.
